Dermal Fillers fill in Facial Lines & Hollows. Dermal Fillers focus on smoothing out facial folds and wrinkles, and filling in facial hollows, leaving you with a more youthful appearance.
They can be used on the face, to enhance and define lips, and also to correct or fill in hollows and depressions on any other part of the body, for example body scarring.
Anti-Ageing
As a result of age, sun damage, worry, gravity and other environmental factors, our facial skin begins to develop lines and wrinkles.
This is a manifestation of ageing of the skin and of a reduction in the collagen and elastic framework of the skin. It is possible to smooth out these folds and wrinkles using a Dermal Filler.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
We use a variety of Dermal Fillers. The chosen Filler is injected into the lines and defects to fill them in and produce a smoother surface of the skin, and a lift and firmness to the treated areas. |
| How Long Does The Treatment Take?
Treatments usually take around 30-60 minutes. |
|
How Long Does The Treatment Last?
The results of the treatment can last from 12-15 months to 18-24 months depending on what product is used and will also vary from one individual to another and the site being treated.
Annual maintenance treatments are recommended as the filler is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body so the lines, wrinkles or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance. |

Do You Need A Local Anaesthetic?
With the advent of the new products containing local anaesthetic the need for other anaesthetics is nearly zero. These fillers numb the area as the injecting is performed. |

Which Areas Can Be Treated Using Dermal Fillers?
The Face: Dermal fillers can be used any where there is a defect on the skins surface. It is largely used on the face, especially for filling out lines and wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, nose and forehead. The contours of your face can also be improved by treating the naso labial folds (between your nose and mouth) and the marionette lines (lines from the corners of your mouth going down to the chin, giving you a sad looking expression).
The Lips: Dermal fillers can also be used to augment the lips and give greater volume and a fuller, more sexy appearance. This procedure also enhances the definition of your lips and helps in the reduction of lipstick bleed by filling your vertical lip lines.
The Body: Dermal fillers can also be used to correct, or fill in hollows or depressions in the skin on any part of the body, such as body scarring.
The exact type of filler chosen will depend on the site of treatment and the degree of correction required. Dr Miller will advise you of the most appropriate filler for your desired look. |
| Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
The modern synthetically produced dermal fillers are extremely safe with a low incidence of allergic reaction. The possibility of allergic reaction will be discussed with you at your consultation.
There is usually some degree of redness and swelling after the treatment, which usually resolves within 1-2 days. In the case of lip augmentation there may be some minimal pain, swelling and bruising for several days. | |
