How does the program work?
We first do a Free Test Patch on an area of your body for a thorough check and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment on your body hair. You will also be able to see what the treatment feels like and what to expect. From here we recommend a treatment program appropriate for you.
The Diode Lightsheer machine produces a beam of highly concentrated light that disables numerous hair follicles at a time which eliminates, or significantly impedes the hair’s regrowth. At any one time, not all hair follicles are ‘active’, and only active hair follicles can be affected and destroyed by the treatment. ‘Inactive’ hair follicles can be treated as they become ‘active’ over time. An average of 4-6 treatments are required to remove all hair.
Are there private health rebates available?
Rebates are dependent on your Health Fund, and are available for people who have ingrown hairs which are creating cysts and infections detrimental to your health. Please first consult and discuss with Dr Terry Miller or your own Practitioner with regard to obtaining a referral for your Fund.
Who is performing the treatment?
All treatments are performed by our Qualified Laser Technicians who are trained and certified through relevant Authority, Queensland Health & Radiation, every certified therapist is evaluated in order to maintain the strict protocol and high standard set by the Association.
What will I look like after my treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, the treated area can often look a little reddened. This tends to go away within a 4-24 hour period. It is recommended that you lightly exfoliate the treated area when the redness settles, while showering over the next few days to loosen any deadened hair left in the skin to help it fall out.
How long does the treatment take?
This is dependent on the areas to be treated. For example, a small area such as the underarm takes about 5 minutes. A larger area, such as the back, can take up to an hour. Lower legs take approximately 60 minutes.
How many treatments do I need to start seeing results?
After just 1 treatment you can start noticing the results, however, dependent upon the individual, it takes a minimum of 4-6 treatments to get the full result.
Is there any down time?
There is usually no downtime, just a little redness of the area treated, and clients can resume their normal daily activities immediately.
Does it hurt?
Generally, clients can feel a rubberband-like sting with a Diode Laser Hair treatment. If required, we can reduce the feeling through the use of an anesthetic cream.
Can anyone receive this treatment?
Yes! Our Laser Hair Removal Program works on all types of skin tones from the darkest to the lightest. The treatment also works best on dark hair. It is not effective on Red, grey or blonde hair. |
Do I need to do anything to get good results?
After the treatment, lightly exfoliate the area treated when showering to remove excess hair. At any one time, not all hair follicles are ‘active’, and only active hair follicles can be affected and destroyed by the treatment. ‘Inactive’ hair follicles can be treated as they become ‘active’ over time. Therefore, we recommend you come every 4 weeks for treatment to get rid of all hair. A minimum of 4-6 treatments are required to remove all hair.
Should I prepare anything before I come in for my treatment?
Before treatment the area needs to be shaved first in order for the laser to reach the hair follicles. To save you time, it is best to shave the area you want treated before you come in, otherwise we will do it for you.
Does this program work on men and women alike?
Definitely. Even though men are not prone to asking for help, if they do, the program brings fantastic results. Clinical experience and the many thousands of men who have put up their hands seeking help have shown excellent results with their body hair gone for good. Women also experience fantastic results.
Are the results lasting?
Yes! However, the odd further treatment may be required in the distant future as any inactive hair becomes active. |
